OVERVIEW
This project involved the complete redesign of Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451. This included the dust jacket, eBook, audiobook tile, and all the interior page elements for the entire text. The client is the hypothetical publishing house of our creation (Internal Compass Publishing House).
SOLUTION
The primary goal was to expand the appeal of Fahrenheit 451 within the younger generation. At the same time, the redesign intends to maintain the mid-century modern/retro-futuristic aesthetics belonging to the novel since it was originally published in 1953.Since this edition is meant to honor Bradbury’s 100th birthday, the concept behind the design looked to mirror his interpretation of the story. That is the reason for the drawn back, small scale approach of illustration. It’s a birdseye perspective of the dystopian society he has formulated. The incorporation of a bold sans serif intends to draw a parallel with midcentury modern aesthetics and the golden age of corporate logos.
