OVERVIEW
This project was a culmination of a semester’s worth of work in a History of Graphic Design course. A series of ephemera (pomade in this case) was to be produced in tandem with the era of design that was being studied. Pomade cans from Post Modern and Contemporary eras are presented above (all era’s mockups are at the bottom of this page).
SOLUTION
The young pomade consumer is somewhat of a paradox, seeking a distinct balance of sophistication and playfulness.
Mixing the use of bold sans serif and script typefaces evoked the refined, yet lively feeling that is sought after by this demographic. In addition, the grass and dew drop illustrations were recurring motifs in this series of pomade. The typography often interacted with the grass motif to keep the brand identity at the forefront.
